Do you think my foundation causes me to break out? What can I do?
Q:I’m using proactiv (I use the moisturizer as well) and it has left my face all rough, sand-paper like, and it’s sort of beginning to peel. I’ve stopped using proactiv (but continued using the moisturizer) for four days, but it seems as if my skin is getting worse. Can somebody give me any suggestions to restore my skin to it’s natural smoothness:(? Thanks!

A:A patient of mine years ago who was a make-up artist for actors in the theater told me the biggest reason acne spreads, is because people dry out their skin with astringents, and do not replenish the moisture your skin requires. You are supposed to was with like dove soap, it has no perfumes,etc.. Then use an astringent, followed by a good daily moisturizer. This should be done in the a.m. and in the p.m. I tried it and have given this advice many times and it always works. Also, do not, if you are a female, use powders on your skin till you are clear. Also, use a good base, but don't forget to always wash and moisturize first, and never leave make up on at bedtime.

A:I suggest rubbing alcohol, while i can't guarantee that it will completely heal your zit, it should dry It out and also shrink it. Hope this helps

A:You know i had the same problem and I have used proactiv but then my face got addicted to it and if i didnt use it i would break out again i went to a dermatologist and he gave me pills because he said its a problem inside not outside cause if i would sleep in a dirty place or touch my face when my hands were dirty i would break out
So i suggest trying to figure out what the problem is and then go from there

A:it depends on your skin type. the expensive ones don't work better- just try different things. you have to make sure to moisturize after washing, because people don't realize how much it helps. i like to use clean and clear and i use cleanser, astringent with a cottonball, and spot treatment in the little white bottle and moistureizer. key things to not do during the day- don't touch your face with your oily hands, don't sweat, and then re-apply makeup without washing your face first, don't let the conditioner get on your face when your in the shower- because the oils in it clog your pores big time! try boiling some water and steam your face to get your pores open, and then quickly wash your face with soap and water. hope it helps.

A:What i would do, is i would go ask my doctor to see what i could do to get rid of my acne. You could also see if there is any other products besides proactive. I use neutrogena, and that seems to work for me. it's really nice. It is also Dermatoligist recommended. I highly think you should check it out!
